Join us for an in-depth discussion about the importance of protecting Honesty in Education and the impact partisan politics is having on Ohio education at the Statehouse, State Board of Education, and local school districts.
The forum will examine how state leaders have weaponized education, race, and identity in an attempt to erode trust and confidence in Ohio public education, and ultimately harm students. This strategic assault on public education has manifested in harmful legislation to censor education around racism and sexism, political pressure to repeal anti-racism and equity frameworks, and concerted efforts to eliminate Diversity, Equity, Inclusion (DEI) initiatives in local school districts.
Panelists will address three specific threats facing Honesty in Education in Ohio:
- Statehouse - House Bills 322 & 327
- State Board of Education - Politicization of the Resolution to Condemn Racism and Advance Equity, safeguarding the Each Child Our Future Strategic Plan, and ensuring a fair and transparent State Superintendent search
- Local School Districts - Opposition to DEI initiatives and student-centered learning, including culturally responsive teaching and social-emotional learning
